Local Boulder Events: What’s Taking Place Today & Coming Up

Hi, I’m Michael Nguyen. Whether you’re looking to get involved in city planning, boost your skills, or simply enjoy Boulder’s outdoors—or indoors—there’s something happening. Here’s your roundup of local events today and just ahead.

Today’s Highlights (Tuesday, Sep 8, 2026)

Executive Functioning Workshop: Impulse Control

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at WfBC Boulder Office (1333 Iris Ave.)

For those looking to sharpen skills like impulse control, focus, and organization—this is a free, hands-on session. Part of a three-part series, each workshop builds on strategies to help in work, school, and daily life. Registration required; space is limited.

University Hill Commercial Area Management Commission Meeting

Today at 4:00 PM (virtual)

The UHCAMC meets today with updates on business district vitality, property / business owner resources, and planning for Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and Improvement Districts. If you have ideas or concerns about “The Hill,” this is a good moment to engage.

Upcoming Events You Won’t Want to Miss

TAB Capital Improvements Program (CIP) Bike Tour

Date: Wednesday, Sep 9, 2026 • 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Start at the B-Cycle station on 13th & Arapahoe. City staff will lead a bike tour of proposed transportation projects under review for 2027-2032. It’s a chance to see what’s planned and share input before TAB makes recommendations. Bring a bike, helmet, water, and sunscreen.

Design and Planning Meetings

  • Board of Zoning Adjustment Meeting – virtual; issues around building design, land use, and zoning are typically discussed.
  • Open Space Board of Trustees Meeting – hybrid format; covers updates on parks, trails, and open space management.
  • Design Advisory Board Meeting – virtual; includes stakes for public presentation and input on ongoing and new design projects.

Why Attend?

Whether it’s an in-person workshop, a virtual commission meeting, or a ride through future transportation corridors—these events let you see what’s coming in Boulder and help shape it. They’re open to the public, often free, and a good way to connect with local issues and neighbors.

If you want, I can send you a more focused list—say arts-only events, or family-friendly outdoor stuff—for the next week. Just say the word.
